Dolphins were slow to get going with errors and penalties allowing New Milton to get first points from the boot. However; they soon got into their stride with a try from lock James Blackwell. New Milton continued to kick penalties and took their score to 9 points to maintain the lead. Despite a valiant effort from the foresters they were unable to turn the scraps they were getting into points. Tries from winger James Wise (3) (Man of the Match), winger Harry Carr and fly half Joel MacFarlane took the half time score to 34-9 to Dolphins.
New Milton knew that their job today was to keep the score down and they did it well frustrating the Dolphins. Penalty infringements weren't punished as hard as they could have been keeping 15 foresters on the field. A penalty quickly taken by them saw them get a well deserved try. Dolphins rallied and tries were added by fullback and captain Rory Penfold (3), lock Joe Nolan and hooker Charlie Wright. Chris Buckett kicked 6 conversions, but the final score was recorded as 65-16 to Dolphins.
Bournemouth II come to lane on 5th April to try and spoil the party as Dolphins look to close out a perfect season. Lunch for injured players, players family and friends before that game. [Events page on website] We hope to see the faithful there if they aren't travelling with the 1st team.
One to go .... deep breath, let's go Hav!
