About the team

At Havant RFC, we have a great coaching team from minis through juniors right up to seniors. We offer various coaching pathways to anyone who volunteers their time at the club, from courses which enable coaches to follow their own children through the club, right up to courses which enable coaches to develop themselves into senior coaches.

Currently we have the following courses running at Havant RFC:
6th August - Kids First Tag Coaching Course - completed
20th August - Kids First Contact Coaching Course
6th September - Club Coach Meeting 1

The following courses are also available through Hampshire RFU:
ERRA - refereeing course
ERCA - coaching course (replaced level 2)
ERACA - coaching course (replaced level 3)
ERMA - mentoring course

All of our coaches from Little Dolphins up to Under-8s have completed their Kids First Tag Coaching Course.
All of our coaches from Under-9s up to Under-18s have completed their Kids First Contact Coaching Course. In addition to this, the Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach for each age grade have completed their ERCA. All coaches complete 2 CCDs per year (Continuous Coach Development) in order to stay current with their qualifications.

We also fund one referee from each grade through the ERRA in order to assist with refereeing non-league fixtures.

In addition to this, we have introduced a new Young Rugby Ambassadors Programme through the club which encourages 14-18 year olds to begin their coaching / refereeing pathway and begin to work with the younger children in the club. This is great for the minis section as the younger players look up to the older players and can learn from those still playing their own game. It also helps keep our club as One Club.
We have recently put 13 children through the Kids First Tag Coaching Course and are about to put 15 children through the Kids First Contact Coaching Course.
